The transition from summer to winter was almost non existent this past year. I don’t believe we actually had a fall season. One day the outside temperature hit the low nineties, but then the next day it dropped down to the upper thirties. There was no time to stop using our HVAC system for a few weeks like normal. During this time, life was especially hectic. My children happen to all be involved in athletic interests plus clubs in college, so I work all day long. After our furnace ruptured plus flooded the basement, I totally forgot about the scheduled annual service for our HVAC system. When I started up our heating program for the first time, I observed a wonderful deal of dust plus the aroma of burnt hair. Since I was so busy with life, I never did anything about it. When our home felt a little chilly the next few days, I bumped up the control component by several degrees. However, what I didn’t know was that my family was also increasing the thermostat too. I realized what was happening as soon as I received our energy bill in the mail. I was floored by our heating costs, especially because it wasn’t even warm in our home. Unwilling to keep spending that much on our heat, I finally hired a Heating plus Air Conditioning specialist to take a look at our furnace. He confirmed that the inner workings were plugged up with dust plus debris. He also said that there was a crack in the heat exchanger. The HVAC specialist suggested that I invest in a service plan, which included seasonal cleaning, tuning, plus concern shooting. The Heating plus Air Conditioning company now phones me to remind me about my HVAC system.
